After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Sherwood Christian Academy, David Emanuel Academy was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They blew past the Fullington Academy Trojans 58-20. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won five contests by 20 points or more so far this season.
Revan Fortner had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 140 yards and a pair of TDs on only 11 carries. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 71-yard run. John-Nathan Martin was in the mix as well, providing David Emanuel Academy with two touchdowns.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: David Emanuel Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 205 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fullington Academy only rushed for 99.
Fullington Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aidan Hill, who rushed for 60 yards and one score on only six carries, and also picked up 39 receiving yards and one TD. Another player making a difference was Blake Hendrickson, who threw for 179 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
David Emanuel Academy's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-2.
