They had to suffer through a rough 66-32 loss at the hands of La Vernia. Young Women's Leadership Academy has struggled against La Vernia recently, as their game on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Claira Fike continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for La Vernia, shooting 4-for-9 from long range and dropping a double-double on 28 points and 11 rebounds. Fike continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lacey Matney, who scored six points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Young Women's Leadership Academy's loss dropped their record down to 7-18. As for La Vernia, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 20 of their last 23 games, which provided a nice bump to their 26-6 record this season.
