The West Point Pointers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 83-56 loss at the hands of Middlesex. West Point was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-23.
Middlesex was led to victory by JaQuan Griffin and Malik Dandy. Griffin dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten assists, while Dandy scored 24 points along with five rebounds. Griffin set a new season high mark in steals with four. Kellen Layne was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five assists.
West Point's loss was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-7. As for Middlesex, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
West Point won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Charles City at 7:45 p.m. on January 12th. As for Middlesex, they will head out on the road to face off against King William at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
