Cedar Grove (N.J.) to a 35-6 victory over
East Side (Newark, N.J.) on Saturday as the return units contributed two touchdowns. The Panthers's special teams scored on a kick return and a punt return.
After taking the lead on a kick return touchdown by
David Njuko in the first quarter, Cedar Grove led 35-0 at the half.
A 22-point second quarter helped CG secure the big victory. The Panthers scored on a punt return touchdown by
Paul Rufo, a
Charlie Dorman touchdown run and a touchdown run by
Mike Rowe in the quarter.
Dorman stood out for Cedar Grove in the win. The senior running back ran for two touchdowns. He has now scored four touchdowns on the season.
The Red Raiders' lone touchdown came on a run in the fourth quarter.
Cedar Grove (3-1) goes up against Glen Ridge in a Super Essex - Colonial game matchup next week, while East Side (0-4) locks horns with Shabazz in a non-conference game.
