The Concord Christian Lions pushed their score all the way to 59 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 64-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sweetwater. Concord Christian was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Sweetwater apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Despite the loss, Concord Christian still got an impressive performance from Drew Sloan, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 17 rebounds. Sloan scored a full 35.6% of Concord Christian's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Dominic Alford was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with 9 rebounds.
Concord Christian's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Sweetwater, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Concord Christian will take on Boyd-Buchanan at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Sweetwater, they will head out on the road to face off against Loudon at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
