Pulaski County hasn't had much luck against Cave Spring recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Cougars will face off against the Knights at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Tuesday, Pulaski County got the win against Salem by a conclusive 17-1. That looming 17-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Cougars yet this season.

Shelby Dobbins and Victoria Hale did most of the damage at the plate: Dobbins fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 3-for-4, while Hale went 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases. Those two stolen bases gave Hale a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Addison Puckett, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Cave Spring ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They skirted past Lord Botetourt 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Knights have posted since May 21, 2025.
Caitlyn Karnes made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing eight innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs.
Karnes wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cece Alouf, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double. That double marked the first that Alouf has hit this season.
Pulaski County is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Cave Spring, their record is now 7-4.
Pulaski County came out on top in a nail-biter against Cave Spring in their previous meeting back in March, sneaking past 6-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
