Softball Recap: California Lutheran Extends Winning Streak to Three

California Lutheran entered their tilt with Sherman Indian on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Braves 12-6. That's more bragging rights for the C-Hawks, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Cailin Schroeder spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits. Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season.

At the plate, Sofiia Klochkova was a standout: she scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4. Emma Hansen was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.

California Lutheran's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Sherman Indian, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coincidentally, California Lutheran and Sherman Indian will both be playing California School for the Deaf-Riverside the next time they take the field. The Braves will host the Cubs at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday, while the C-Hawks will head out to face them at 2:45 p.m. on Friday.
