Friendship Christian has enjoyed a six-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. After each having a week off, the Friendship Christian Commanders and the Middle Tennessee Christian Cougars will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 3:00 p.m. on November 30th. Friendship Christian has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 223 points over their last five matches.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Friendship Christian walked away with it. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Nashville Christian 56-14 at home. Friendship Christian might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won ten games by 21 points or more this season.
Tyson Wolcott continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 228 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 8.8 yards per carry. Wolcott really tore up the turf during one magnificent 83-yard run. Dontae Parker also helped out as he racked up 112 rushing yards.
Meanwhile, Middle Tennessee Christian entered their tilt with Columbia Academy with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Middle Tennessee Christian came out on top against Columbia Academy by a score of 35-27 on Friday.
The match pitted two dominant backs against one another in Eli Wilson and Montae Baldwin. Wilson had a great game and rushed for 220 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.9 yards per carry. Meanwhile, Baldwin was balling out in the loss, rushing for 164 yards and a touchdown.
Friendship Christian pushed their record up to 11-2 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-10 King's Academy and 4-7 Ezell-Harding Christian (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 37.3% over those games). As for Middle Tennessee Christian, their win bumped their record up to 11-1.
Friendship Christian couldn't quite finish off Middle Tennessee Christian when the teams last played back in September and fell 16-14. Can Friendship Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
