The Creighton Prep Junior Jays will face off against the Omaha Westside Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Creighton Prep had taken Papillion-LaVista down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Monday. The Junior Jays fell just short of the Monarchs by a score of 2-1. The Junior Jays have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Quinn Peterson was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Creighton Prep saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Garrett Andersen, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Omaha Westside). They never let Columbus get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory on Monday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Ben Weiss looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
On the hitting side, Markus Chandler was a standout: he scored a run while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Jack Schulz was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Omaha Westside was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .480. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in five consecutive matches.
Omaha Westside's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Creighton Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Creighton Prep has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Omaha Westside struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Creighton Prep was able to grind out a solid victory over Omaha Westside in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 5-2. Do the Junior Jays have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
