The Cocoa Beach Minutemen's four-game losing streak came to an end on Wednesday. They breezed by Pineapple Cove Classical Academy on the road to the tune of 51-19. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Cocoa Beach has managed all season.
Cocoa Beach's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kendra Weth, who scored 11 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Weth has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlotte Cordis, who scored 11 points.
Despite the loss, Pineapple Cove Classical Academy still got an impressive performance from Rachel Waine, who scored 13 points along with six steals.
The victory got Cocoa Beach back to even at 10-10. As for Pineapple Cove Classical Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-15.
Cocoa Beach won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Edgewood at 7:00 p.m. on January 25th. Hopefully Edgewood focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday. As for Pineapple Cove Classical Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against West Shore at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. West Shore is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak.
