Volleyball Recap: First Baptist Academy Takes a Loss

First Baptist Academy extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 2-9 in the process. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Father McGivney Catholic Griffins. First Baptist Academy was not able to make up for their defeat to Father McGivney Catholic from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

As for Father McGivney Catholic, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-14. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since April 12th.

Leading Father McGivney Catholic to victory were Anthony Harkins and Tristan Luehmann. Harkins had 14 digs, while Luehmann had nine digs and one block. That's the most digs Luehmann has posted since back in April. Michael McGranahan also deserves some recognition as he had his first kill of the season.

First Baptist Academy has already played their next match (against Metro-East Lutheran), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Father McGivney Catholic, they will challenge Alton at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
