Placer (Auburn, Calif.) kept up a steady attack all game long to beat
Foothill (Palo Cedro, Calif.), 42-14, on Saturday.
The Hillmen were up 21-7 at the half after taking the lead on a Valliere touchdown run in the first quarter.
Placer expanded its lead to 28 points entering the fourth quarter. PHS scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown pass by Peter Denham to Isaac Brahce.
The Cougars' Pollard Ryan was the standout player for his team. The junior quarterback threw two touchdowns.
Brahce was the top performer for the Auburn school. The senior running back ran for one touchdown and caught two touchdowns. He has now scored five touchdowns on the season.
The loss comes after Foothill defeated Reed 50-33 last week.
Foothill (1-1) will play a non-conference game against Lassen next week, while Placer (2-0) will take on Casa Roble also in a non-conference game.
