With a playoff game on the line, the Nazarene Christian Academy Lions rose to the challenge on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Heritage Christian 76-30 on the road. With Nazarene Christian Academy ahead 44-22 at the half, the game was all but over already.
It was another big night for Dominic Johnson, who rushed for 202 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries, and also picked up 109 receiving yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlos Canelos, who gained 113 total yards and four touchdowns.
The win (which was Nazarene Christian Academy's fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points per game. As for Heritage Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
Nazarene Christian Academy will take on Azle Christian at TBD on Saturday. Azle Christian is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Heritage Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
