The Evergreen Wolverines will venture away from home to face off against the Lindbergh Eagles at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Evergreen's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Lindbergh's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Evergreen's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Friday's struggle, when Interlake hitters got past them. The Wolverines came up short against the Saints on Friday, falling 11-3. The Wolverines' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Tycean Martin was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. Martin was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.
In other batting news, Riley Coughlin made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Lindbergh got the win against Renton on Saturday by a conclusive 18-8. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won five matches by seven runs or more so far this season.
Isaiah Soto-Hernandez was a standout: he got on base in all six of his plate appearances with one home run, three stolen bases, and four runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Tyson Glenn-Thomas, who went 5-for-6 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.
Lindbergh always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .633. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Lindbergh has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Evergreen, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-3.
Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Evergreen has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .554. However, it's not like Lindbergh struggles in that department as they've averaged .451. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Evergreen was able to grind out a solid win over Lindbergh when the teams last played back in March, winning 9-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolverines since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
