The Wheatmore Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 15th straight loss. They took a 61-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Southwestern Randolph. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Wheatmore in their matchups with Southwestern Randolph: they've now lost seven in a row.
Despite the loss, Wheatmore had strong showings from Kamdyn Wood, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and three steals, and Parker Kines, who scored 16 points. That's the first time this season that Wood pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Weston Driggers, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Wheatmore bumped their record down to 1-15 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Southwestern Randolph, their victory bumped their record up to 4-12.
Wheatmore will head out on the road to square off against Providence Grove at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Providence Grove and Wheatmore are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Southwestern Randolph, they will be playing at home against Uwharrie Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Uwharrie Charter is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.
