Newark Memorial is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Piedmont is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Newark Memorial Cougars will take on the Piedmont Highlanders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
Newark Memorial scored first but ultimately less than Arroyo in their contest on Saturday. They fell 14-6 to the Dons.
Meanwhile, Piedmont put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Saturday. They put the hurt on American with a sharp 52-30 victory.
Piedmont's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Markos Lagios, who threw for 261 yards and three touchdowns while completing 78.6% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Another player making a difference was Tommy Ashton, who rushed for 172 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries.
Arroyo's victory bumped their season record to 5-5 while Newark Memorial's defeat dropped theirs to 6-3.
