Meanwhile, Piedmont put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Saturday. They put the hurt on American with a sharp 52-30 victory.
Piedmont's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Markos Lagios, who threw for 261 yards and three touchdowns while completing 78.6% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Another player making a difference was Tommy Ashton, who rushed for 172 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries.
Arroyo's victory bumped their season record to 5-5 while Newark Memorial's defeat dropped theirs to 6-3.
