The Iroquois West Raiders won the last time they faced the South Newton Rebels, and things went their way on Saturday too. Iroquois West walked away with a 45-36 win over South Newton. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Iroquois West.
Matthew Armstrong and Owen Firkins certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Armstrong scored nine points along with seven rebounds and two blocks, while Firkins scored six points along with four steals.
Iroquois West pushed their record up to 12-17 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.3 points per game. As for South Newton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-15.
Iroquois West will head out on the road to face off against Cissna Park at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for South Newton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against North Newton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Newton has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
