Justin Ruiz made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out 13 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. He has become a key player for Jefferson: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-6 otherwise. Ruiz was also big at the plate, firing off three triples, three runs, and one RBI while going 3-for-5. That's the most hits he has posted over his last 12 matchups.
In other batting news, Aiden Urdiales was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last 15 contests. Julian Calvario was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.

Devine's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Thursday. Jefferson has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.1 strikeouts per game.
