The Bothell Cougars will head out on the road to square off against the Issaquah Eagles at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Bothell's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 12 matchups.
On Monday, Bothell's game was all tied up 27-27 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 60-51 victory over Inglemoor. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up 18 more assists than your opponent, as Bothell did.
Bothell's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Jaylen Mclaughlin, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds, and Kingston Mclaughlin, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that Mclaughlin scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Jarell Fermon, who scored five points along with eight assists and six rebounds.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Issaquah's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They had to suffer through a rough 82-55 loss at the hands of Mount Si. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Issaquah in their matchups with Mount Si: they've now lost seven in a row.
Bothell's win bumped their record up to 6-14. As for Issaquah, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-7.
Bothell came up short against Issaquah in their previous matchup on January 5th, falling 67-59. Can Bothell avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
