5A Region III District 21 recap Oct. 9, 2012
Port Arthur Memorial extended the longest winning streak in 5A Region III District 21 this week by beating Channelview, 6-0. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Titans.
The Falcons moved up to 776 from 818 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. A 6-0 win over Channelview helped Channelview improve its standing.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Port Arthur Memorial takes on second place North Shore. Last week, Port Arthur Memorial topped Averion Hurts' team, while North Shore.
Two highly touted recruits will be in the spotlight when the Mustangs and Kenny Harrison's team meet this week. North Shore features well-regarded junior Zach Whitley while the Titans has Martin, a sought after freshman.
Deer Park led 5A Region III District 21 in scoring this week after putting up 62 points on Sterling.
