Lakeland is 1-9 against Post Falls since March of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Hawks will face off against the Trojans at 12:00 p.m. Lakeland will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Lakeland gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They blew past Moscow 20-5. Considering the Hawks have won nine games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Abby Helmholz made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.1 strikeouts per game. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Raygen Dutton, who fired off two home runs, five RBI, and one double while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted over her last 11 matchups. Another player making a difference was Avah Gonzales, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Lakeland kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Post Falls suffered their closest defeat since April 10, 2025 on Thursday. They fell just short of Coeur d'Alene by a score of 6-4. The loss continues a trend for the Trojans in their meetings with the Vikings: they've now lost five in a row.
Like Lakeland, Post Falls also got a great game from a two-way player: Rylan Morrison. She tossed six innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Morrison was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
Morrison wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Lexie McCarroll, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
Post Falls' defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Lakeland, their record is now 14-4.
Post Falls' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Lakeland has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.7 hits per game. It's a different story for Post Falls, though, as they've been averaging 10.7 hits. Given Lakeland's sizable advantage in that area, the Trojans will need to find a way to close that gap.
Lakeland couldn't quite finish off Post Falls when the teams last played back in April of 2025 and fell 9-7. Can the Hawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
