Climax-Scotts is 7-2 against Bellevue since May of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Panthers will host the Broncos at 5:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Climax-Scotts has five straight victories, Bellevue has 11 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Friday, Climax-Scotts was able to grind out a solid win over Colon, taking the game 4-1.
Carter Dzwik was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 15 over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
Dzwik wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Gavin Eyre, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Bellevue suffered their closest loss since May 20, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of Burr Oak by a score of 7-5.
Aden Sloan made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season.
Climax-Scotts pushed their record up to 8-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Bellevue, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-9.
Bellevue's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Climax-Scotts hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .388. It's a different story for Bellevue, though, as they've only averaged .213. Will they be able to contain Climax-Scotts' hitters?
Climax-Scotts took their victory against Bellevue in their previous matchup back in April by a conclusive 23-1 score. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Broncos turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
