Prospect Ridge Academy is 0-4 against Forge Christian since August of 2021 but things could change on Thursday. The Miners will look to defend their home field against the Fury at 7:00 p.m. Prospect Ridge Academy will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
On Friday, Prospect Ridge Academy was able to grind out a solid win over The Pinnacle, taking the game 21-8.
Ryan Knopf was the offensive standout of the matchup as he rushed for 89 yards and one score.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Forge Christian). They breezed past Manitou Springs to the tune of 63-0 on Friday. The Fury haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Prospect Ridge Academy better keep an eye on Quentin Torres. He was instrumental in Forge Christian's win, picking up 107 receiving yards and one TD, while also rushing for 65 yards. Torres showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 65 yards. Treysen Eye was in the mix too, providing Forge Christian with two touchdowns.
Forge Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 209 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 166 rushing yards in three consecutive contests.
Special teams was a major factor in the game for Forge Christian, racking up 19 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Torres, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
Prospect Ridge Academy's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Forge Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.
