While the Southold/Greenport Settlers couldn't quite beat the Babylon Panthers on Thursday, the three-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 25-point defeat they were dealt back in December of 2023. Southold/Greenport fell just short of Babylon by a score of 36-33. Southold/Greenport was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Babylon apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Among those leading the charge was Giavanna Randazzo, who scored 17 points.
This is the second loss in a row for Southold/Greenport and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for Babylon, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-5.
Southold/Greenport will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Babylon at 6:15 p.m. on February 12th. As for Babylon, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against East Hampton at 6:15 p.m.
