The Archie Williams Peregrine Falcons waltzed into their match Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 60-58 win over San Rafael. Given Archie Williams' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 263rd, while San Rafael is ranked 612th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Archie Williams to victory, but perhaps none more so than Julian Nichol, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brian Wright, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds.
Archie Williams is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for San Rafael, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Archie Williams will head out on the road to face off against Tamalpais at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Tamalpais' favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matches. San Rafael will be home for the holidays to greet College Park at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
