Baseball Game Preview: Piedmont Academy Cougars vs. Tattnall Square Academy Trojans

For the second straight game, Piedmont Academy will face off against Tattnall Square Academy. The Cougars will head out to take on the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Piedmont Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.

Piedmont Academy took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Tattnall Square Academy, sneaking past 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cougars have posted since May 4, 2024.

Nick Gervasio spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Piedmont Academy is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 9-10 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jack Adams, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Piedmont Academy: the team is 5-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 7-9 otherwise. Tyler Griswell was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI.
