Lyons was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Denver Academy on Thursday. The Lions blew past the Mustangs 17-2. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won six games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Wyatt Fitzgerald made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.
