The Issaquah Eagles will square off against the Bothell Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Bothell will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Issaquah extended their winning streak to four on Monday. The Eagles' pitcher stepped up to hand Liberty a 15-0 shutout. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.
Sadie Huryn (2025) was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Giorgia Graham (2027) was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI.
Issaquah was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .536. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bothell). They blew past Lake Washington 11-1 on Wednesday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Cougars with their most commanding win of the season.
Addison Hall tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Bothell got a big performance out of Kirsten Mahlen, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Mahlen a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Kolbi Schmer, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI.
Issaquah pushed their record up to 10-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Bothell, the win got them back to even at 6-6.
Issaquah took their victory against Bothell in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 20-3 score. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
