Clearwater has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on The East Lake Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
Last Friday, Clearwater was the victim of a rough 27-3 defeat at the hands of Calvary Christian. Clearwater was down 27-0 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Even if they lost, Clearwater's defense still kept up the pressure with five sacks. Leading the way was Maurice Bryant and his two sacks.
Meanwhile, East Lake had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They blew past Sickles, posting a 42-7 victory at home.
East Lake's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Eli Millian, who threw for 172 yards and two touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes. Andrew Sammons was another key contributor, picking up 52 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
With Clearwater's defeat and East Lake's victory, both teams now sport identical 4-3 records.
Clearwater suffered a grim 68-42 defeat to East Lake when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Will Clearwater have more luck at home instead of on the road?
