Basketball Game Preview: Intermountain Christian Lions vs. Vanguard Academy Valiant

The Intermountain Christian Lions will head out to square off against the Vanguard Academy Valiant at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Intermountain Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.

Intermountain Christian is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They snuck past Utah Military Academy - Hill Field with a 77-73 win on Tuesday.

Knox Westenskow and Noah Hillaker were among the main playmakers for Intermountain Christian as the former went 11 of 17 en route to 31 points and five steals and the latter went 7 of 17 on his way to 28 points and four steals. Hillaker's evening made it ten games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of David Reist, who posted nine points and six assists.

Meanwhile, Vanguard Academy lost to Rockwell at home by a 71-53 margin on Friday.

Intermountain Christian's victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-9. As for Vanguard Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Intermountain Christian lost to Vanguard Academy on the road by a decisive 61-47 margin when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Can Intermountain Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
