Trinity Prep and Geneva are an even 4-4 against one another since March of 2018, but likely not for long. The Trinity Prep Saints are taking a road trip to square off against the Geneva Knights at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Trinity Prep sitting on five straight victories and Geneva on three.
Trinity Prep is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitcher stepped up to hand University a 15-0 shutout on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

The team relied heavily on Emma Hartung, who scored three runs and stole Five bases. while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those five stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Noor Asfoor also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Trinity Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .821. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Geneva's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Windermere Prep with a sharp 12-0 victory. While the Knights didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Dallas Esperas was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.5 strikeouts per game. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, Emma Bastian and Chloe Incinelli did most of the damage at the plate: Bastian scored a run while going 1-for-3, while Incinelli scored two runs while going 1-for-3. Briana Rodammer was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.
Geneva's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 16.7 runs. As for Trinity Prep, their record is now 6-1.
Trinity Prep's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's contest. Trinity Prep has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.1 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Geneva, though, as they've been averaging only 0.8 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Trinity Prep continue to outrun the ball?
Trinity Prep took their victory against Geneva when the teams last played back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 9-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for Trinity Prep since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
