Basketball Game Preview: Monarch Coyotes vs. Holy Family Tigers

The Monarch Coyotes will head out on the road to square off against the Holy Family Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Monarch is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Rocky Mountain just ended the team's three-game winning streak back in December of 2024. They received a blow as they fell 66-47 to the Lobos.

Despite the defeat, Monarch saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Sienna Williams dropped a double-double on 28 points and 14 rebounds. Williams is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least 11 every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Avery Kennedy, who posted six points.

Even though they lost, Monarch smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 15 consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Holy Family waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 57-44.

Holy Family pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 35.4 points. As for Monarch, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
