The Lone Peak Knights and the American Heritage Patriots will face off at 7:00 p.m. on December 20th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard on Wednesday.
Winning is just a little bit easier when you drain six more threes than your opponent, a fact Lone Peak proved on December 2nd. They really took it to Cottonwood for the full four quarters, racking up a 70-42 victory at home. That looming 70-42 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Lone Peak yet this season.
Lone Peak's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Chamberlain Burgess led the charge by dropping a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for him. Ike Staley was another key contributor, scoring 20 points.
Meanwhile, American Heritage was able to grind out a solid win over San Juan on Saturday, taking the game 73-64. The victory made it back-to-back wins for American Heritage.
Lone Peak now has a winning record of 3-2. As for American Heritage, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season.
