The Mira Mesa Marauders will take on the Charter Oak Chargers at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Mira Mesa will come in still looking for their first win of the season.
 Last Friday, Mira Mesa ended up a good deal behind Mater Dei Catholic and lost  40-21. While losing is never fun, the Marauders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' California football rankings  (they are ranked 555th, while the Crusaders are ranked 203rd).
 Despite their  loss, Mira Mesa saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays.  Max San Agustin, who rushed for 87 yards and two touchdowns, was perhaps the best of all. The dominant performance gave  San Agustin a new career-high in  rushing yards. The team also got some help courtesy of  Connor Sahe, who picked up 96 receiving yards and a touchdown.
 Meanwhile, Charter Oak entered their  game against Yorba Linda  two weeks ago without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Charter Oak and Yorba Linda were almost perfectly matched up, but Charter Oak suffered  a  29-28 defeat. The loss was the Chargers' first of the season.
 Despite the  loss, Charter Oak had strong showings from  Corin Berry, who threw for 351 yards and four touchdowns, and  Legend Lyons, who picked up 147 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Berry is  on a roll when it comes to  passing touchdowns, as he's  now  passed for three or more in the last four games he's  played dating back to last season.  Marquis Bradley was another key player, picking up 114 receiving yards and a touchdown.
 Mira Mesa's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Charter Oak, their  loss was their first of the  season and  makes their record 3-1.
