The Taos Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Moriarty Pintos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Taos will be strutting in after a win while Moriarty will be coming in after a defeat.
Taos had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Pojoaque Valley 35-6 on the road. The result was nothing new for Taos, who have now won three matches by 29 points or more so far this season.
Meanwhile, Moriarty fell victim to Espanola Valley's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They had to suffer through a rough 50-0 loss at the hands of the Sundevils. Having soared to a lofty 34 points in the game before, Moriarty couldn't push the score so high this time.
Taos' win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Moriarty, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season.
Taos took their win against Moriarty in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 by a conclusive 28-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for Taos since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
