The Kuna Kavemen will head out to take on the Borah Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Kuna is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9 runs per game this season.
Kuna is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Idaho's top teams: Boise, who was ranked 20th at the time (Kuna was ranked 24th). The Kavemen walked away with a 9-6 win over the Brave on Saturday. The game snapped a strange streak: the last five times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.
Alex Toothman looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Max Sperry was incredible, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Kuna: the team is 5-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-4 otherwise. Roper Allen was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Meanwhile, Borah was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 12-0 to Eagle. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Lions were not able to get on the board.
Kuna's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Borah, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-10.
Borah's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Kuna hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .378. It's a different story for Borah, though, as they've only averaged .239. Will they be able to contain Kuna's hitters?
Kuna was able to grind out a solid win over Borah in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, winning 4-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Kavemen since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
