Basketball Recap: Konos Academy's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Konos Academy had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Hearts Academy Panthers with a sharp 62-37 victory. The Condor pushed the score to 52-20 by the end of the third, a deficit the Panthers cut but never quite recovered from.

Leading Konos Academy to victory were Joshua Knapp and Eli McFadden. Knapp went 7 of 12 on his way to 17 points along with eight rebounds and three steals, while McFadden went 5 for 7 on his way to 13 points and four steals. The dominant performance gave McFadden a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Neal, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 12 points and five rebounds.

Konos Academy's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-8. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 41.3 points. As for Hearts Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Konos Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hearts Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 6, 2025. As for Hearts Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Cornerstone Prep Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
