Kensington Lakes - Central recap September 24, 2013
Stevenson's Austin Petrie rumbled for the longest rushing play in Kensington Lakes - Central this season in his game against South Lyon last week. Petrie's team lost to the Lions as he sprinted for 65 yards on the play and finished with 100 in all.
South Lyon scaled the state rankings by moving to 147 from 226 this week, the biggest jump in the league. Mark Thomas' team was able to move up by defeating Stevenson 24-21.
South Lyon East's dynamic duo of Zac Powers and Wade Morris proved to be unstoppable against Novi, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Powers threw for 168 yards and Morris had 98 yards receiving. Trent Willenborg helped South Lyon East's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 47 yards.
The Cougars' dynamic duo of Powers and Morris proved tough for the Wildcats to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Petrie was the best running back in the league this week. C.J. Weiss also contributed to the rushing game with 77 yards on the ground.
Powers put up the best numbers through the air as South Lyon East fell to Novi.
Weiss was a passing and rushing force as Randy Micallef's team lost to the Lions.
Petrie was a key player and the best on defense this week as the Spartans lost to South Lyon. The 5-foot-9 sophomore.
Morris was the best receiver in Kensington Lakes - Central this week as Michael Lindman's team lost to Jeff Burnside's team.
The Cougars' Powers and Morris have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Powers has thrown for 553 yards this season, while Morris, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 17 catches for 292 yards. Weiss from Stevenson leads the league in rushing with 317 yards.
The Spartans are in third place, while Northville is in second place.
The Lions and Stevenson played the closest game in the league this week, with the Lions eventually emerging with a 24-21 victory.
