They walked away with a 57-49 win over the Vista Ridge Rangers. Given the Vipers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 41st, while the Rangers are ranked 278th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Vandegrift's victory bumped their record up to 14-4. As for Vista Ridge, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-9.
