Southwest Florida Christian took a serious blow against Neumann, falling 44-12. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Southwest Florida Christian in their matchups with Neumann: they've now lost six in a row.
Despite the loss, Southwest Florida Christian still got an impressive performance from Isaac Tanner, who rushed for 85 yards and a touchdown.
Jake Bruni was a one-man wrecking crew for Neumann as he rushed for 76 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries, and also threw for 140 yards and a touchdown while completing 73.7% of his passes. Bruni was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 56 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Decker Crosby, who gained 85 total yards and a touchdown.
Southwest Florida Christian's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Neumann, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-4.
Southwest Florida Christian will face off against Evangelical Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Evangelical Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Southwest Florida Christian in Florida (Evangelical Christian is ranked 255th, while Southwest Florida Christian is ranked 531st). As for Neumann, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Windermere Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Windermere Prep focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up four on Thursday.
