The Minden Whippets posted their closest victory yet this season on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past St. Paul 43-41. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Minden also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Minden to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brycen Schwenka, who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Ryan, who scored 11 points.
Minden now has a winning record of 6-5. As for St. Paul, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Minden the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome McCook at 6:30 p.m. on January 18th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (McCook is ranked 81st, while Minden is ranked 101st). As for St. Paul, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Centura at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
