The California City Ravens scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They managed a 61-55 victory over Arvin. The win was nothing new for California City as they're now sitting on four straight.
California City was led to victory by Darrius Brown and Cassius 'Hollywood' Brown . Brown dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds, while Brown scored 19 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Brown has scored at least 25% of California City's points. Avery Spears was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Despite the defeat, Arvin saw an underclassman step up: Xzavier Pierson-Brooks scored 18 points. The game was Pierson-Brooks' sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Allen Stone, who scored 11 points.
The win got California City back to even at 4-4. As for Arvin, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. California City will square off against Boron at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Boron is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak. Arvin and Wasco will face off at 6:30 p.m. on December 11th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
