The Foothill Falcons will head out on the road to square off against the Las Vegas Wildcats at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games Foothill has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
On Friday, it was close, but Foothill sidestepped Clark for a 6-5 win. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Chargers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Makoa Elliott was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two triples, two RBI, and one run. Those two triples gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Thayne Watson, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Las Vegas faced Shadow Ridge in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Wildcats took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mustangs. The defeat continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Mustangs: they've now lost five in a row.
GAGE MCCOWN was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. BRYDEN BULL was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs.
Las Vegas' loss dropped their record down to 18-9. As for Foothill, their win bumped their record up to 19-8-1.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Foothill hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .313. However, it's not like Las Vegas struggles in that department as they've averaged .330. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Foothill took their victory against Las Vegas in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 11-2 score. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
