The Birchwood Christian Warriors will take on the Kenai Central Kardinals at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Birchwood Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 33 on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, Birchwood Christian was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 46-45 to Non Varsity Opponent.
The losing side was boosted by Noah Guderian, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. Karsten Wetzel was another key contributor, scoring six points along with four steals and two blocks.
Kenai Central posted their biggest win yet this season on Friday. They claimed a resounding 58-24 win over Nikiski at home. The victory was just what Kenai Central needed coming off of a 77-43 loss in their prior match.
Birchwood Christian's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Kenai Central, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-7.
Birchwood Christian was able to grind out a solid win over Kenai Central when the teams last played back in January of 2016, winning 48-35. Does Birchwood Christian have another victory up their sleeve, or will Kenai Central turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
