Softball Recap: Edison Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Edison, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over the Brea Olinda Wildcats on Monday.

Not much got past Elina Garcia, who gave up just seven hits to keep Brea Olinda off the board. Those hits marked the first that Garcia allowed this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Hannah Stolba, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three runs. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaila Arakaki, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Edison is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. Brea Olinda has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season.

Edison wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 12-10 loss against Marina on the 25th. As for Brea Olinda, they have also already played their next match, a 12-0 victory against Crean Lutheran on the 25th.
