The La Serna Lancers will face off against the California Condors at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. La Serna is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
On Tuesday, everything went La Serna's way against Whittier as La Serna made off with an 11-1 victory. That looming 11-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Lancers yet this season.
Ava Jimenez looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Isabela Sanchez was a standout: she scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Mikaela Galicia, who scored two runs while going 1-for-1.
La Serna hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most two strikeouts in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, California beat El Rancho 7-3 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Condors.
Alexis Salas spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up 12 Ks.
At the plate, Mia Martinez and Jessica Gurule did most of the damage at the plate: Martinez went 3-for-4 with one home run, while Gurule went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That home run was Martinez's first of the season. Ally DeAlba was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one triple.
The win got California back to even at 5-5. As for La Serna, their record is now 4-2.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. La Serna has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like California struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.5 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
La Serna couldn't quite get it done against California in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 10-5. Can La Serna avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
