Manchester is on a seven-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Rochester is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Squires will welcome the Zebras at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Manchester is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.6 runs per game this season.
On Monday, Manchester was able to grind out a solid win over Wabash, taking the game 8-4.

Molly Schannep spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. Those seven strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
On the hitting side, Manchester got a big performance out of Hadley West, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases, one run, and one double. That's the most stolen bases West has posted since back in May of 2024. Ava Sautter was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last game, Rochester made sure to put some runs up on the board against Northfield on Monday. The Zebras blew past the Norsemen 17-1. The result was nothing new for the Zebras, who have now won four matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.
Bria Rensberger was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 16 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. That stolen base was her first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aubrey Miller, who went 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, four runs, and three RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrey Wilson, who went 2-for-5 with two RBI and one run.
Rochester was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in five consecutive contests.
Manchester's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-5. As for Rochester, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.
Wednesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Manchester hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .359. However, it's not like Rochester struggles in that department as they've averaged .364. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Manchester was able to grind out a solid win over Rochester when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 6-2. Will the Squires repeat their success, or do the Zebras have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
