On Friday, South Pemiscot came up short against Westwood Baptist Academy and fell 64-54. South Pemiscot has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Westwood Baptist Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from James Hawley, who scored 29 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 assists. That makes it five consecutive games in which Hawley has scored at least 25% of Westwood Baptist Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Jones, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 10 rebounds.
South Pemiscot now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Westwood Baptist Academy, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Pemiscot will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Risco at 6:00 p.m. on December 19th. Risco and South Pemiscot are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Westwood Baptist Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Marquand-Zion at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Marquand-Zion has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
