Bloomfield is 9-1 against the Vikings since January of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Bloomfield Bees will be staying on the road to face off against the Wausa Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd.
Last Tuesday, Bloomfield came up short against the Indians and fell 42-33.
Despite the loss, Bloomfield got a solid performance out of Kora Poppe, who scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Madison Abbenhaus, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Wausa scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They came out on top against Winside by a score of 46-28 (the very same score they lost by the week prior). The win was a breath of fresh air for Wausa as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.
Wausa's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sienna West, who scored 14 points along with three steals. Elle Brazel was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six steals.
Bloomfield has not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. As for Wausa, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-13.
Everything came up roses for Bloomfield against the Vikings in their previous meeting last Tuesday as the squad secured a 58-27 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bloomfield since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
