The Wendell Trojans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their eighth straight loss. The game between Wendell and Richfield wasn't particularly close, with Wendell falling 38-22. Wendell lost against Richfield in their previous head to head back in November, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 36-28 score last time.
Kasey Hendren was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 11 steals for Richfield. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Hendren has scored at least 25% of Richfield's points. Shelby Jones was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Wendell's loss was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-10. As for Richfield, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.
Wendell will head out on the road to face off against Declo at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Richfield will be home for the holidays to greet Mackay at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
